ISIS Wants Lone Wolves in America to Assassinate Twitter Employees

The Islamic State (ISIS) asked lone wolves in America and Europe to assassinate Twitter employees because the social media platform deletes ISIS accounts. The terrorist group uses Twitter to spread its propaganda and hate.

The account @DAWLAMOON, who had 3,000 followers, was suspended, but Vocativ translated the tweets:

#The_Concept_of_Lone_Wolf_Attacks The time has arrived to respond to Twitter’s management by directly attacking their employees and physically assassinating them!! Those who will carry this out are the sleepers cells of death.

#The_Concept_of_Lone_Wolf_Attacks Twitter management should know that if they do not stop their campaign in the virtual world, we will the bring the war to them in the real world on the ground.

#The_Concept_of_Lone_Wolf_Attacks Every Twitter employee in San Francisco in the United States should bear in mind and watch over himself because on his doorstep there might be a lone wolf assassin waiting.

#Attacking_Twitter_Employees is on the agenda of mujahedeen and lone wolves who are across Europe

Vocativ took screen shots of the tweets and @DAWLAMOON’s bio page. The page was allegedly run by Al Nusra Al Maqdisia, which means The Supporters of Jerusalem. This group “pledged loyalty to ISIS in February and claimed to have participated in the Gaza war on its behalf.” None of this could be confirmed, though. However, the tweets contained pro-ISIS messages and interacted mainly with people from America.

Twitter attempts to shut down pro-ISIS accounts, but new ones pop up seemingly faster than the site can handle. Over 30,000 new accounts were formed after ISIS posted the video of American journalist James Foley’s murder on August 20. In forums, ISIS provides ways to avoid Twitter shutdowns. New accounts show up with a slightly altered name and username.
