Baylor No. 1 in Final Women's Poll

The Baylor Lady Bears received all 40 first-place votes and finished the season No. 1 in the Associated Press poll.

Baylor (32-1), led by Brittney Griner, college basketball’s most dominant player, remained No. 1 for the final 11 weeks of the season and will be the  No. 1 overall seed in the women’s tournament.

“I am very fortunate to be able to coach this group of players,” Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. “They strive to be the best they can be and have worked hard to get to and stay at the top of their game. The No. 1 ranking is another example that their efforts have paid off.”

Notre Dame, Connecticut, Stanford and Duke round out the top five.

California, Kentucky, Penn State, Texas A&M and Tennessee round out the top ten.
