NFL Players Association President: Multiple Gay Players Will Come Out

The president of the NFL Players Association said multiple gay players will come out once an NFL player openly reveals that he is gay.

In an interview with WNST in Baltimore, Domonique Foxworth, a former NFL cornerback with the Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens, said when a gay player comes out, there will be a “media storm” and “probably not all of it’s gonna be positive.”

“It doesn’t have to be one player,” Foxworth said. “When one player comes out, multiple players will come out, because they are in our league right now.”

Foxworth said the NFLPA would support the gay player or players and that gay football players coming out would be a bigger deal to the media than the players who already know there are gay players in the league.

Earlier this week, a CBS Sports columnist wrote that a gay player may be willing to come out this season in the NFL.
