Nancy Pelosi: 'Democrats Couldn't Be More Thrilled' About Affordable Care Act

In response to Obama a Couple of Months Ago: Once It’s Up and Running, Republicans Will Not Call It ObamaCare :

Yesterday, in an interview with Buzzfeed, Nancy Pelosi claimed she says ‘Affordable Care Act’ instead of ‘ObamaCare’ because “everybody may not love Obama, but everybody loves affordable.”

Well she’s right about that. According to the latest CBS poll, Obama’s approval rating has tanked to 37%, an all time low.

And unfortunately for Democrats, a lot of Americans are finding out it’s not-so affordable, which explains the CBS poll findings that show only 31% approve of ObamaCare/the Affordable Care Act – whatever you want to call it. 61% disapprove. 84% of DEMOCRATS think the law needs to be changed or be repealed.

Pelosi acknowledged she was “really disappointed” that the technology behind the website failed, but said she was excited to see the program fully implemented.

“You can imagine coming from Northern California what I think of that,” she said, referring to Silicon Valley. “But none the less, it will work and the policy is sound, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that we’re on the verge of it all coming to fruition.”

According to the Hill, however, Democrats are seething with anger over the botched roll out of (what they now call) the Affordable Care Act. Democrat aides say Obama’s relationship with congressional Democrats has reached an unprecedented low.

Sources who attended a meeting of House chiefs of staff on Monday say the room was seething with anger over the immense damage being done to the Democratic Party and talk was of scrapping rollout events for the Affordable Care Act.

“Here we are, we’re supposed to be selling this to people, and it’s all screwed up,” one chief of staff ranted. “This either gets fixed or this could be the demise of the Democratic Party.

“It’s probably the worst I’ve ever seen it,” the aide said of the recent mood on Capitol Hill. “It’s bad. It’s really bad.”

I don’t know what they’re all so upset about. According to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, they “all knew” Obama was lying when he promised over and over again that everyone would be able to keep their health care plans and doctors, and everyone’s premiums would go down. What did they think was going to happen when people learned the truth?

The botched website launch is actually working in their favor, preventing people from seeing their higher ObamaCare premiums.

Democrats around Capitol Hill say there are lots of people to blame for the debacle that has engulfed them. But increasingly the anger is directed at one person only: Obama.

“Is he even more unpopular than George W. Bush? I think that’s already happened,” said one Democratic chief of staff.

Yeah, not to suggest the former Speaker is delusional or anything, but “thrilled” is the last word I would use to describe Democrat reactions to this fiasco.
