Why are Democrats Rarely Published for Saying Stupid Things?

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) did his part Sunday morning to demonstrate why Obamacare will continue to be the most important issue for Republicans in the 2014 midterm elections. In response to the Congressional Budget Office’s latest projection last week that 2.5 million Americans will leave the labor force in response to Obamacare, Ellison said: “This is a good thing….We might want to look at our work-life balance.”

On the scale of stupid statements said by politicians, Ellison’s ranks somewhere around Todd Akin’s infamous “legitimate rape.” The thought that a representative of a congressional district that recently had a 9.5 percent unemployment rate arguing that people ought to work less is something quite outrageous. Republicans will surely pounce. Yet somehow the stupidity of Democrats is rarely met by outrage in the mainstream media.
