Yankees Play 'Sweet Caroline' to Honor Boston Marathon Victims

The New York Yankees played “Sweet Caroline” after the third inning of Tuesday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Yankee Stadium to honor the Boston Marathon victims.

The Neil Diamond song is traditionally played at Fenway Park, where the Boston Red Sox play.

Diamond tweeted his appreciation after learning of the tribute:

Thank you NY Yankees for playing ‘Sweet Caroline’ for the people of Boston. You scored a home run in my heart. With respect, Neil #OneBoston

Earlier in the day, the Yankees put a “United We Stand” sign on the top of the stadium with New York’s and Boston’s logos. The Yankees beat the Diamondbacks 4-2.
