Club for Growth Calls FL. Sen. Candidate David Jolly the ‘C’ Word

That would be Charlie Crist, the former Florida Governor who used to be a Republican, then bailed on the party to run as an independent after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) surged to a double-digit lead in the 2010 Senate primary. Crist’s name has become a shorthand insult whenever someone wishes to challenge a candidate’s conservative credentials, and when Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) jumped into the Florida Senate race on Monday, the Club for Growth had thrown the Crist name at him within a few hours.

Perry: Trump Should Withdraw From Race After Saying John McCain ‘Is Not a War Hero’

Perry’s sharp words come after Trump attacked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), saying that McCain was not a war hero and was only regarded as such because he had been captured and held as a prisoner of war. Trump, who has been trading insults with McCain for the past few days, continued his critical remarks about the Senator. When moderator Frank Luntz commented that McCain was a war hero, Trump, according to a report by Politico, responded, “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

Rick Perry: Trump’s Comments Are a ‘Toxic Mix of Demagoguery and Nonsense’

Former Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) had some sharp words for his fellow Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, slamming the New Yorker’s “fundamental misunderstanding of border security” and saying that Trump was not offering conservatism to primary voters, but instead “Trump-ism — a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense.”

Rick Perry: Planned Parenthood ‘Profits Off the Tragedy of a Destroyed Human Life’

“The video showing a Planned Parenthood employee selling the body parts of aborted children is a disturbing reminder of the organization’s penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life,” said Perry in a statement provided to Breitbart News. “It is because of stories like this that I signed legislation defunding Planned Parenthood in the state of Texas – to protect human life and the health and safety of Texans.”

Texas Could Be Kingmaker in 2016 GOP Primary

This year, however, Texas will join eleven other states on a “Super Tuesday” primary on March 1. With fifteen-and-counting Republicans in the race, the chances that the field would significantly narrow with just the first four states are very low. “Texas is the reddest of the red states, and unfortunately, in previous cycles our primary hasn’t mattered much,” Texas GOP chairman Tom Mechler told the Morning News, sharing his satisfaction that in 2016, Texas Republicans would “have a say in who is the next Republican nominee for president.”

Hillary Clinton Blames GOP for Everything in Economic Speech

What she didn’t say: Many Americans have dropped out of the labor force during the Obama presidency, and even those still working have seen wages stagnate or their full-time jobs turn into part-time. Even Clinton’s Democratic competitor, Bernie Sanders, has recognized that the “true” unemployment rate is far higher than the figures pushed by the Obama administration, due to those who have given up looking for work.

Perry to Trump: ‘You Might Want to Take a Trip Down to Texas’

Perry cited the additional personnel he had sent to the border as part of a surge operation last summer, and noted that these efforts resulted in a 74 percent decrease in apprehensions as fewer people dared try to cross. “Those are real results, not just rhetoric,” said Perry, who added that he knows that “securing the border is going to take a lot more than just building a wall,” including “personnel on the ground, aviation assets, quick response teams.”

Hillary Clinton Can’t Even Be Honest About Ice Cream

Now that we have settled the absolutely critical question of Hillary Clinton’s favorite flavor of ice cream, perhaps now the press can ask some questions about her email server or Benghazi or something. That is, if she ever lets them get past the rope line.

Rick Perry: GOP Has Ignored Black Vote for Too Long

“When it comes to race, America is a better and more tolerant and more welcoming place than it has ever been. So why is it that even today, so many black families feel left behind?” asked Perry, noting that African-Americans continued to economically lag behind other Americans. Democrats have long had the opportunity to govern in African-American communities. It is time to help black families hold them accountable for the results.

Rubio Vows to Block Confirmation of U.S. Ambassador to Cuba

President Barack Obama’s administration has aggressively pushed for normalizing relations with the island nation. In April the State Department removed Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, despite ongoing concerns about its support for terrorism and human rights violations. This decision was heavily criticized by both Rubio and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rubio’s fellow Republican in the Senate and competitor for the GOP presidential nomination.

Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Lakes But Few Friends for Hillary Clinton

Minnesota has been a fairly reliable state for the Democrats in Presidential years, and has not given its electoral votes to a Republican since voting for Richard Nixon in 1972. With Clinton reaching Wendy Davis-depths of unpopularity, however, Minnesota might not just be in play, but winnable for the eventual Republican nominee.
