Hypocrite Pelosi Feigns Outrage Over Olympic Uniform Outsourcing

Nancy Pelosi, The 2nd Greatest Friend American Business Ever Had (we all know who #1 is) is feigning outrage over the fact that the uniforms worn by U.S. Olympic athletes for the opening ceremonies were made by Ralph Lauren in China.

She pontificated, “They should be wearing uniforms that are made in America.” This dovetails nicely with the initiative just launched by the Democrats called “Make It in America” to promote American manufacturing. Not coincidentally, Democrats are currently attacking Mitt Romney over fictitious outsourcing.

It’s so nice that The 2nd Greatest Friend American Business Ever Had believes in supporting American business. We can all feel good that her wealth has come from supporting American businesses. Or not. According to Pelosi’s 2011 financial disclosure statement, The 2nd Greatest Friend American Business Ever Had made $1 million and $5 million in partnership income from “Matthews International Capital Management LLC,” which invests heavily in Asia.

Matthews proudly states that it does so: “A singular focus on Asia-and helping investors share in that growth- is what distinguishes us among investment managers.”

And Matthews is not shy about how much more Pelosi as an investor gains by investing with them:

“Consider a few eye-opening statistics: In 2009, China surpassed the U.S. in auto sales, and by 2011 had 100 million passenger cars: South Korea leads the world in broadband access, with more than 80% of households having a connection: Asia has the largest community of people online by total number of Internet users: In 1990, there were just two nationally broadcast television channels in India. Today, there are several hundred.”

The 2nd Greatest Friend American Business Ever Had and her counterpart in the White House, The Greatest Friend American Business Ever Had, can double-talk about outsourcing all they want; the path they are taking by inflating the currency so no one sees how they are destroying the U.S. economy means that Americans won’t be buying anything in America –because Americans soon won’t be buying anything, period.
