Obama Promotes American Exceptionalism?

On Wednesday, Barack Obama redefined himself again, and in the process, demonstrated why he is the biggest hypocrite ever to occupy the Oval Office. The same man who has spent his presidency debunking the concept that the United States of America is any better than other nations had the brass and insolence to actually utter these words at a campaign rally in Colorado:

…[W]e’ve still got the best workers in the world. We’ve got the best entrepreneurs in the world. We’ve got the best scientists and researchers in the world, the best colleges, and the best universities in the world. We’re still a young nation, and we’ve got the greatest diversity of talent and ingenuity, and people want to come here from every corner of the globe. So no matter what the naysayers tell us, no matter how dark the other side tries to make things look, the fact is there is not another country on earth that would not gladly trade places with the United States of America.

Obama has always railed against American exceptionalism; it’s only convenient for him to champion it now because he’s up against someone who truly believes in it.

Let’s take a trip down Memory Lane. In a February 2008 CNN debate with Hillary Clinton, Obama said:

Because the problem is – is if we think that meeting with the president is a privilege that has to be earned, I think that reinforces the sense that we stand above the rest of the world at this point in time.

But if we are not a superior culture, why would every other country want to trade places with us, Mr. President?

Then there were the trio of attacks he made against American workers in late 2011:

September:

The way I think about it is, y’know, this is, y’know, a great, great country that had gotten a little soft, and y’know, we didn’t have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades …

October:

We’ve lost our ambition, our imagination, and our willingness to do the thingsthat built the Golden Gate bridge.

November:

but, y’know, we’ve been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted, well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America.

And, of course, there was Obama tacitly acknowledging that America was no better than the rest of the world with his famous words At the NATO Summit in Strasbourg, France, in 2009:

I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.

Now he’s trumpeting American exceptionalism? Obama keeps trying to blow smoke up the American people’s behinds, changing positions when it suits him and baldly lying about issue after issue like the charlatan and mountebank he is.
