Occupier Arrested After Carrying Sign 'You're Being Robbed' Into Bank

According to local news reports, David Gorczynski, an Occupy Easton, Pennsylvania protester, has been arrested for attempted bank robbery after he held a sign outside a bank reading, “You’re being robbed.” He held a second sign, too, that read, “Give a man a gun, he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob a country.” Gorczynski then walked inside the bank, freaking out a bank teller and prompting her to hit the panic button.

Occupy Easton was duly upset with the arrest: “He is not the criminal. If the police were truly there to protect and serve the taxpayers, the banksters would be arrested and this man would be called a hero,” they posted. The police defended their action, stating that they were responding to the panic alarm. Occupy says that Gorczynski still faces two charges, one of attempted bank robbery and a second of terroristic threatening.

As of publication, charges had been dropped. Nonetheless, it is a poor idea to carry a sign reading, “You’re Being Robbed” into a bank.
