GOProud Co-Founder: 'Breitbart Did It His Way'

Chris Barron, co-founder of GOProud, honored the late Andrew Breitbart at the group’s “HomoCon” party Tuesday night in Tampa, Florida.

“Andrew wanted to take the conservative fight to every corner of this country country and to every medium,” Barron said of the new media pioneer.

Barron said he was told for most of his own life, “you can’t say that, you can’t do that, you might offend someone, what will people think?”

“And, of course, my favorite,” he continued, “‘That’s just not the way we do things.'”

Barron stated, “Andrew taught us another valuable lesson” about bucking convention and going against the grain.

“And then along came Andrew Breitbart,” Barron said. “Breitbart did it his way.”

Many are honoring Breitbart’s legacy and iconoclasm during the Republican National Convention.

On Monday, the RNC honored Breitbart with a moment of silence, and two movies featuring him — “Occupy Unmasked” and “Hating Breitbart” — will be shown this week.

By doing it his way, Breitbart taught many on the right how to joyously combat the mainstream media and the left, and he left behind many acolytes.
