Hurricane Sandy Closes Virginia Early Voting Locations

Hurricane Sandy has caused early voting locations to close on Tuesday in most of Virginia’s most populous counties — impacting voters in Republican and Democrat-leaning regions alike.

According to Virginia’s State Board of Elections, early voting locations will not be open on Tuesday in these counties with the exception of Gloucester County, which opened some voting locations at 10 a.m.:

Accomack County

Arlington County

Fairfax County

Falls Church City

Fauquier County

Gloucester County – Opening at 10:00 AM

Loudoun County

Tazewell County

Virginia Beach City – Open

Westmoreland County

Wise County

Voters in Virginia were not able to cast early votes on Monday, as nearly every early voting location throughout the Commonwealth was closed before Hurricane Sandy made landfall.
