LA City Council Calls for 'Meatless Mondays'

Just when you thought that liberalism couldn’t be any more of a religion, liberals decide to adopt abstinence from meat one day per week – Mondays. Call it Liberal Lent. According to a resolution drafted by the Los Angeles City Council on October 24:

Be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Los Angeles hereby declares all Mondays as ‘Meatless Mondays’ in support of comprehensive sustainability efforts as well as to further encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet to protect their health and protect animals.

Councilwoman Jan Perry, who is running for Mayor of the city, wants to ban fast-food restaurants in Los Angeles. “While this is a symbolic gesture, it is asking people to think about food choices they make,” she said.

How long will it be before the left decides that Meatless Mondays aren’t advisory – that, in fact, you can’t get into Liberal Heaven (San Francisco) unless you avoid meateating?
