Sen. Feinstein: 'Concerned' About Defense by Benghazi Diplomatic Security

On Tuesday, Chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) confirmed with Breitbart News that she has “concerns about the defense put up by [Benghazi] Diplomatic Security. That is correct.”

Breitbart News reported on Monday that Sen. Feinstein was troubled to learn, during a closed door meeting about the Benghazi attack, that shots were not returned by U.S. diplomatic security agents who were assigned to protect U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Joe Lieberman (D-CT) told reporters on Tuesday that he and ranking committee member Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) are still reviewing the Benghazi reports.

He went on, “Should we have closed down the mission in Benghazi? It was very small. And the second is what happened during the attack? Is there more that our military should have been able to do protect the lives of out people there? So these are still–the questions are very good questions. I don’t feel like I completed my investigation enough to answer now.”

Lieberman told Breitbart News that he could neither “confirm nor deny yet” if the U.S. diplomatic security personnel were initially unarmed when the attacks in Benghazi happened, but that “we’ll deal with that in the report.”
