Quinnippiac Poll: 46% Agree with NRA on Guns, 43% with Obama

The lastest Quinnippiac poll shows 46% of the public believes the NRA reflects their view on guns better than Obama, who is at 43%.

Among gun-owning households, the numbers were 62% to 27% in favor of the NRA; in military households they were 57% to 33% in favor of the NRA.

Similarly, Forbes magazine’s Bruce Rogers noticed the NRA was gaining momentum during the month of January:

[We’ve studied] the data for the week prior to the Sandy Hook tragedy and trended the data over the subsequent 5 weeks to determine the ebb and flow over the gun control debate. We found that the NRA and pro-gun rights voices are winning the influence battle and will continue to be strong and more influential if the pro gun control voice remains fragmented.

Rogers described the gun control debate as “a marathon” in which “the NRA has the stamina to outrun the pro gun control movement.”
