Rep. Pascrell Stands by Menendez–for Now

Congressman Bill Pascrell (D – NJ) told Breitbart News on Tuesday that he does not think the embattled Senator Menendez (D – NJ) should step down from his position as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“Unless there’s something tangible and concrete and if in some manner shape or form it impeded his public duties, then absolutely not. I don’t have any proof of that,” Pascrell said.

Controversy continues to follow Sen. Menendez as allegations of ethics violations, dalliances with prostitutes, and trips to the Dominican Republican with a shady wealthy donor swirl around him. Some wonder if an individual in Menendez’s position could be susceptible to blackmail.

Pascrell appears concerned about that issue, but he sees nothing solid yet to indicate that Menendez has done anything wrong. “If I see something tangible in that effect and not conjecture, yes I would definitely change my mind,” he said.
