Donna Brazile, who was an advisor on Bill Clinton’s two presidential campaigns, the campaign manager of Al Gore in 2000, was the Chair of the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute, and the head of the DNC in 2011, decided to insult the late Margaret Thatcher immediately after the news of her death was released. Brazile wrote on Twitter:
Okay, what did the #ironlady do to advance Great Britain and the world? Did she leave lasting footprints for women in politics? #justsayin

The response was instantaneous from those who cared about Thatcher and factually knew history:
John Podhoretz of Commentary magazine wrote:
@donnabrazile I’m going to assume someone hacked your account.

Brazile tried to offer some balance, tweeting:
RIP #Iron Lady. Margaret Thatcher was tough, decisive & fearless. She was a controversial figure. Ronald Reagan respected her leadership.

Readers weren’t satisfied, as Twitchy pointed out. Some of the best:
@lisadep @donnabrazile Disagree. I think she made a really dumb and insensitive tweet and got called to the mat for it. It’s now CYA time.

Well @donnabrazile has a point. Look at the abuse Hillary has taken from the man she married to get where she is today. #realwoman
