Obama to Hold Thursday News Conference on IRS

(AP) – President Barack Obama says he’s ready to take questions at a news conference Thursday about revelations that the IRS singled out conservative groups for extra scrutiny.

The president announced plans for the news conference on Wednesday as he made a brief statement about how his administration is handling the IRS situation. Obama says the IRS conduct was inexcusable, and he’s angry about it. He also said the acting IRS commissioner has resigned.

The president is sure to get questions about other matters related to his administration as well. Those include ongoing questions about how the administration responded to last year’s deadly assault on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya.
