Sen. Coburn: Holder Can't Investigate Himself

Sunday on CBS’ Face the Nation, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) stated that Attorney General Eric Holder should be prevented from investigating himself over accusations concerning Department of Justice targeting of journalists. “Allowing the very person that authorized the two things we are very aware of today to investigate whether or not he did that appropriately, is inappropriate.”

President Obama has announced a Department of Justice probe into Department of Justice activities regarding journalists. This follows hard on the heels of the controversial Accountability Review Board report largely exonerating the Obama administration of any wrongdoing in the Benghazi terrorist attack of September 11, 2012. Four of the five ARB panelists were chosen by the State Department, one of the very agencies the ARB was supposed to audit.
