Senate Dem Spokesman to Become Holder's Spokesman

Even as Senate Democrats express concern over the Department of Justice targeting reporters, Senate Democratic press spokesperson Brian Fallon is moving from the Senate Democrats over to the Justice Department to do flacking for Attorney General Eric Holder.

Fallon will stay on Capitol Hill until mid-June – perhaps long enough to help grease the skids between his old bosses and his new bosses – before heading to the Department of Justice. Fallon has worked more specifically with Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who has proposed, at the White House’s behest, to reinstate a media shield law designed to notify journalists when they are targeted by the DOJ.

According to a profile of Fallon in the National Journal, Fallon’s current position requires “long hours helping to plot and execute steps in Senate Democrats’ daily messaging fight with the GOP.”
