CBO: Revised Immigration Bill Costs More, Increases Border Security 8%

According to a newly-revised estimate of the immigration reform bill passed by the Senate from the Congressional Budget Office, the bill will cost more money while only minimally preventing more border crossers.

According to the CBO, the Corker-Hoeven amendment, which supposedly ratchets up border security, will cost some $39 billion over the next ten years, while only raising illegal immigration prevention from 25 percent to 33 percent. In other words, the bill costs more money and doesn’t achieve its ends, especially given the gaudy rhetoric spouted by its advocates.
