According to documents released by NSA leaker Edward Snowden on Monday, about one in every five applicants for a position with the CIA had ties to Hamas, Hezbollah, or al Qaeda. The document showed that the CIA had uncovered literally thousands of applicants with “significant terrorist and/or hostile intelligence connections.”
The NSA’s vast surveillance powers have come under significant fire in the wake of Snowden’s revelations.
