Maryland Obamacare 'Experiencing Unexpected Connectivity Problems'

Maryland’s Obamacare healthcare exchange, Maryland Health Connection, is announcing via its Facebook page that its website and toll-free call center are “presently experiencing unexpected connectivity problems” and that citizens should “please come back and visit the site at noon.”

Two phone calls to the Maryland Health Connection number (1-855-642-8572) confirmed that the Maryland Obamacare exchange is not working.

The first call, this reporter was redirected to a voicemail from one “Rasheeda” that said the system was experiencing technical difficulties and that she “cannot hear a word you are saying” so please leave contact information. The second call went to someone named “Justin” who said he was having trouble hearing this reporter but that the system was not working and that they hoped to have it fixed by noon today.

Callers are instructed to have numerous forms of personal identifying information ready, such as Social Security number and employer information.

The grand opening of Obamacare’s healthcare exchanges open nationwide today.
