White House on GOP Attempt to Remove Obamacare Subsidies: 'It's a Ruse'

White House press secretary Jay Carney said on Wednesday that any attempt by Republicans to strip special benefits on Obamacare from members of the Obama administration and Congressional staff was “a ruse.” He stated, “You know that’s a ruse, we know that’s a ruse… The party has been hijacked by a faction within it, and I say that quoting Republicans. I say that not to score a point but to make an observation that is widely held here by people of both parties…and that has a negative impact on the functioning of our democracy.”
