POLL: Bill Clinton Preferred to Obama 3 to 1

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 (UPI) — U.S. voters say they still think Bill Clinton was a better president than fellow Democrat Barack Obama, a Rasmussen Report survey released Friday indicated.

Sixty-two percent of likely U.S. voters said they think Clinton was a better president, compared to 20 percent who said the same about Obama, results indicated. Eighteen percent said they were undecided.

Clinton served two terms after he was first elected in 1992.

Among Democrats, Clinton was the favorite by a 49 percent-to-37 percent margin, results showed. Sixty-nine percent of Republicans and 70 percent of voters not affiliated with either major party picked Clinton over Obama as well.

A plurality — 41 percent — of voters said they believe the former president is a plus if Hillary Clinton decided to seek the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 while 20 percent said they considered her husband a negative. Thirty-two percent say he will have no impact on her bid for the presidency.

Results are based on a national telephone survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted Wednesday and Thursday. The margin of error is 2 percentage points.
