Minneapolis Man Pulls Concealed Carry Handgun, Halts Brutal Robbery

On December 17 a Northeast Minneapolis man pulled his legally-possessed concealed carry handgun and ended a robbery and bloody beating inside a corner market.

According to the Star Tribune, Matt Dosser was walking past a corner market around 9:30 p.m. when he came upon two suspects who had already “pistol-whipped” the market owner, “overturned” store contents, and were beating their fists against the store’s front window in a rage.

At first Dosser only saw the two suspects hitting the front window and “nothing made sense.” Then he saw the gun and everything clicked. He immediately drew his gun from his holster and held it “at the ready.”

When the suspects saw Dosser’s gun they fled. Inside the market Dosser found store owner Mohamed S. Ahmed with “the back of his skull split open pretty good” from the pistol-whipping.

Afterwards, Dosser praised the fact that Minneapolis laws recognize a citizen’s right to be armed. “Police can’t be everywhere,” he said.
