Poll: Just 16% Say Government More Transparent Under Obama

A Breitbart News/Judicial Watch poll finds that 77% of those surveyed express a high level of concern over Washington, DC corruption.

Fifty-two percent of those polled said the government is doing a worse job policing Washington corruption.

Respondents were then asked: “When campaigning for the presidency in 2008, Barack Obama promised to have the most transparent government in history. Over the past five years, do you think the workings of the federal government have become more transparent and open to the public, less transparent and open to the public, or stayed about the same?” 41% said less transparent, 39% said about the same, and just 16% of individuals polled said the government was more transparent than five years ago.

The finding shows a rift between Americans and President Barack Obama who promised that his was “the most transparent administration in history.” 

The poll, which was conducted December 13-16, was comprised of 1,000 adults whose party affiliations were 41% Democrat, 35% Republican, and 18% Independent. The poll’s margin of error was 3.1%.
