BOSTON, Dec. 30 (UPI) —
Boston’s Parks and Recreation Commission Monday voted unanimously to adopt a smoking ban in all city parks that goes into effect immediately.

The amendment, proposed in November by Mayor Tom Menino, prohibits smoking tobacco, marijuana or any other substances in areas controlled by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, WBZ-TV, Boston, reported. Violators will be fined $250.
