In an effort to prevent school children “simulating a firearm” from being punished, Florida lawmakers are pushing a “Toaster Pastry Gun Freedom Act.”
According to the Sun Sentinel, the bill lists “brandishing a partially consumed pastry or other food item” or “playing with small toy guns, such as those made with Legos,” as something that should not result in punishment for school children.
Additionally, the bill would protect students who “[pretend] a finger or pencil is a gun or [draw] a picture of a gun [or wear] clothes that depict guns.”
On January 11th Breitbart News reported that Oklahoma state Rep. Sally Kern (R) was pushing similar legislation in her state. Her bill is called the Common Sense Zero Tolerance Act, and it is meant to protect kids “who fashion their hands into imaginary guns, or [chew] their breakfast pastries into the shape of a gun.”
