Exclusive – Donald Trump Confirmed to Speak at CPAC 2014

Real estate magnate, television star, and conservative provocateur Donald Trump is a confirmed speaker for the upcoming 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Breitbart News has learned.

Trump has been a hit at several recent CPACs, with the crowd loving his populist no-nonsense politics.

“Donald Trump is a successful entrepreneur who cares deeply about his country,” American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Al Cardenas said in a statement provided to Breitbart News. “He pulls no punches and always calls it like he sees it. Clearly a crowd favorite in the past, we welcome him to our 50th anniversary, CPAC 2014.”

CPAC is an annual gathering of thousands of conservatives in Washington, D.C. aimed at unifying the movement and connecting leaders with grassroots activists. The ACU hosts the event. It takes place from March 6 through March 8 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, right outside Washington, D.C.

This year is CPAC’s 50th anniversary. That–and the more than 200 leaders who will be presenting or speaking–will make 2014 “our best CPAC ever,” Cardenas said.

“This will be the year that conservatives begin pulling the nation back from the brink of Barack Obama’s disaster with a movement that inspires, unites, and discovers new solutions to our current challenges,” Cardenas said.

A business leader known for his boldness and a celebrity enjoyed for his brashness, Trump has emerged as a conservative leader, especially in recent years. Since President Barack Obama was elected, Trump has been a perennial thorn in his side–using the spotlight only he can earn to annoy, humiliate, and pressure the president and his allies on everything from the Benghazi scandal to Democrats’ fiscal irresponsibility to efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.

Trump flirted with a possible White House run in 2012 but ended up not entering the race. Heading into 2016, though, especially with the recent troubles of New Jersey’s similarly brash GOP Governor Chris Christie, Trump may make a run at the White House. As of late, whenever asked if he will seek to succeed Obama in the Oval Office, Trump gives some variation of the standard answer: “I haven’t decided yet.”
