Conservatives and Libertarians Meet for Florida Liberty Summit as Establishment GOP Plans Retreat

As Republican leaders in Congress plan a fundraising retreat in Florida to benefit the Republican Mainstreet Partnership PAC, Florida Campaign for Liberty is teaming up with Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) in hosting a major event in Orlando, Florida, that’s focused on “The Future of Liberty in America,” according to its website.

The April 4-6 Florida Liberty Summit at the Double Tree by Hilton at Sea World in Orlando is happening in conjunction with YAL’s Florida State Convention. These are expected to bring hundreds of activists from all over the southeast region.

Mark Cross, the Executive Director of Florida Campaign for Liberty and the event’s main organizer, said, “This year’s focus is on where conservatives and libertarians can agree and learn from each other. Our coalitions need to come together to bring the topic of Liberty back to the mainstream to preserve it for our children.”

The annual Liberty Summit, which began in 2009, will begin Friday night with a performance by Liberty music artist Jordan Page. A discussion will follow about “The Future of Liberty” with radio host, columnist, and co-author of Sen. Rand Paul’s book The Tea Party Goes to Washington, Jack Hunter. Next will be a series of speeches by Joshua Parrish, Southeast Regional Director of YAL; Mark Cross, Executive Director of the Florida Campaign for Liberty; and John Tate, President of the Campaign for Liberty.

Just prior to closing remarks by Elizabeth Newberry, President of the Campaign for Liberty Foundation, will be Friday night’s keynote speech by Dr. Ron Paul.

Saturday’s presentations begin at 8 a.m. and include addresses by Ken Cuccinelli on the NSA lawsuit, Abigail MacIver of Americans for Prosperity, Lonny Leitner of American Majority on grassroots organizing, Ben Swann on the future of liberty in media, Peter Schweizer on crony capitalism, and many more.

Saturday’s presentations will conclude with an address and Q&A by Senator Rand Paul via Skype followed by a Liberty Banquet for an upgraded fee to dine with the weekend’s speakers. The day will end with the “Generation Opportunity Happy Hour” sponsored by Generation Opportunity and a screening of UNFAIR: The Movie with an introduction by the film’s producer, Craig Bergman.

Sunday will focus on specific issues like Common Core, red light cameras, government spending, grassroots activism, and more, with breakout sessions and keynote addresses by Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks; Congressman Ted Yoho; and many more.

Jason W. Hoyt, host of American Patriots Radio, will conduct interviews for Breitbart News throughout the weekend. Stephen K. Bannon, Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host of Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM The Patriot, will interview speakers live from the event throughout Saturday’s show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST.
