Indiana Woman Fights Off, Stabs Home Intruder with Knife

On the morning of April 11, a woman in downtown South Bend, Indiana, fought off a home intruder and critically wounded him by stabbing him with a knife.

According to Elkhart, Indiana’s Fox 28, the man forced his way into the woman’s home around 7 a.m. Police say the woman “managed to fight off the attacker, stabbing him in the chest.” She then “ran across the street and got help from a neighbor.”

The man allegedly pursued her as she crossed the street.

Cheryl Dorman lives across the street. She let the blood-covered woman into the house and said the victim kept yelling, “He’s going to kill me, he’s going to kill me.”

Once she was in the neighbor’s house the man turned, and began walking away.

Police say the man is now in surgery, “having suffered life-threatening injuries.”
