Just Before Passover, Brandeis Chooses Slavery

Just days before the beginning of Passover, that great celebration of freedom, a prominent American Jewish university has sided with the enslavers.

Under pressure from the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacist groups, Brandeis University rescinded an honorary degree it had planned to give to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a champion of freedom and vociferous critic of Islamic law’s oppression of women and others.

Brandeis said that it was dropping Hirsi Ali because of some statements that she had made of which they had been unaware – that is, until CAIR brought these statements to their attention. Hirsi Ali commented on this: “Having spent many months planning for me to speak to its students at Commencement, the university yesterday announced that it could not ‘overlook certain of my past statements,’ which it had not previously been aware of. Yet my critics have long specialized in selective quotation — lines from interviews taken out of context — designed to misrepresent me and my work. It is scarcely credible that Brandeis did not know this when they initially offered me the degree.”

It is also scarcely credible that Brandeis officials didn’t know about CAIR’s ties to Hamas. Brandeis’s craven capitulation to a group linked to Hamas as well as the Muslim Brotherhood has shocked millions, but those of us who have been on the receiving end of this campaign of destruction are not surprised at all. For years CAIR has made a concerted effort to demean and discredit every single individual who stands against Islamic violence and Sharia oppression.

These supremacist goons are determined that there be no opposition of any kind to jihad terrorism, and they easily get leftists like the Brandeis administrators to do their bidding. Universities like Brandeis that were established on the principles of Jewish values and ethics have become voluntary weapons against those very principles. They have even awarded an honorary degree to the playwright Tony Kushner, whose hate-filled propaganda against Israel includes the blood libel that Israel committed the “ethnic cleansing” of Muslims in order to create a Jewish state. He alleges that to say that is not anti-Jewish. Yeah, right.

Brandeis has also honored Desmond Tutu, a racist and anti-Semite who has compared Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to the treatment of blacks in apartheid South Africa. The Americans Jewish leadership clearly learned nothing at all from their unforgivable silence during the Holocaust. The same sha Jews — the same “Be quiet and get along” Jews — stood by silently while half of our people were slaughtered in cold blood in Europe. Not all were silent, but most were — and brave, singular voices such as Ben Hecht and Peter Bergson were demonized and ostracized by Jewish quislings here in America.

Many have criticized me for my vocal denunciations of American Jewish leadership. But Hirsi Ali is not alone: in September 2008, Sarah Palin was invited to speak at a major rally against then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but was then disinvited by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations for fear of offending Democrats. And many Jews have been my most vocal critics: the Toronto Board of Rabbis, which denounced me when I spoke in that city; the embarrassingly self-loathing Union of Reform Judaism, whose uber-left President Rabbi Eric Yoffie declared: “Pamela Geller has no place in an American synagogue”; the lost and dangerous New York Rabbis Michael White and Jerome Davidson, who denounced a Long Island synagogue for inviting me to speak; the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, which canceled an appearance by me in 2012; and others.

When they do these things, it is not me that they expose; it is themselves. These quisling Jews are a pox on our house. Twinning with jihad mosques, stepping and fetching for Muslim Brotherhood groups, they are this century’s kapos — aiding and abetting our executioners. If you oppose my work, you support jihad and Jew-hatred.

It’s the same thing in this case. Shame on Brandeis, a Jewish university, for aiding and abetting the atrocious maligning of Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Hirsi Ali speaks of unhappy things, things that civilized men don’t want to hear, and that savages don’t want you to hear. That is all the more reason that universities and other academic institutions should eagerly provide a platform for such voices. Instead, cowardice prevails in every corner — every nook and cranny of these decaying institutions.

Ben Hecht once wrote:

The soul of the Jew is an ancient and complicated business. It has been trained by disaster and calumny to live in caution, to hide itself cozily behind good deeds, to overlook insults, to charm its enemies, and to avoid getting its enemies angrier than they are. Thus hidden, thus full of cunning modesties and suicidal graces, it has remained nevertheless a brave soul–when destinies other than its own are at stake. It has fought and died valorously in defense of every cause but its own. Yes, it has the courage to fight and die for others. But it has hardly the guts even to speak in its own behalf. I know this soul of the Jew because I am part of it.

And so are the Brandeis administrators who are responsible for this egregious capitulation. Brandeis’s logo includes the inscription “Truth even unto its innermost parts.”

That should now be changed to “Truth is the new hate speech” and “Cowardice even unto its innermost parts.”
