Missouri Senate Joins House on Bill Nullifying Federal Gun Laws

On April 30th the Missouri Senate voted 23-8 to join state representatives in nullifying federal gun laws and rejecting “unlimited submission” to the federal government.

On April 3rd Breitbart News reported the Missouri House passed HB 1439 in support of nullification by a vote of 110-36.

The Tenth Amendment Center reports the Senate’s passage of HB 1439 nullifies “virtually every federal gun control measure on the books” and applies to laws “past, present or future.”

HB 1439 states that laws that infringe on Missourians’ right to keep and bear arms “shall be invalid in this state, shall not be recognized by this state, shall be specifically rejected by this state, and shall be considered null and void and of no effect in this state.”

The legislation was labeled an “emergency” bill in both the House and Senate so that it could become effective “sooner than the required 90 days after the [legislative] session ends.”
