Obamacare Sends Virginia 2015 Premiums Soaring Up to 16.6%

New filings from Virginia insurance companies reveal that Obamacare will result in premium spikes of up to 16.6% for some customers.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Anthem HealthKeepers Inc plan’s 110,000 Virginia customers can expect an average 8.5% jump in premiums across plans. The Journal added that, “Some consumers could see an increase of 16.6%, while others will see their rates go up only .5%.” The company attributed the premium increases directly to Obamacare.

Anthem customers are not the only Virginians who will feel the Obamacare crunch. CareFirst BlueChoice Inc’s 32,000 members can expect a 14.9% premium hike.

News of the Virginia’s skyrocketing Obamacare-induced premiums comes 175 days before voters head to the polls to vote in the Nov. 4 midterm elections.
