According to the Village Voice, 9/11 truthers are printing fake museum brochures to hand out at the opening of the new National September 11th Memorial Museum on Wednesday, May 21. The group, calling itself The Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, believes that the Twin Towers were destroyed by a controlled demolition in a conspiracy to trigger going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Last September the group rented a billboard in Times Square as well as Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Dallas, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Sydney, and London, reading, “Did you know a third tower fell on September 11?”
They were referring to WTC Building 7, which collapsed on the afternoon of September 11, 2001. Building 7 had offices for the U.S. Secret Service and the Central Intelligence Agency. But the group ignored the 2008 report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which concluded that fire and structural damage caused the collapse, as well as a study from Popular Mechanics that concurred with that finding.
For the museum’s opening, the 9/11 group says its brochure will give museum visitors “a first-rate ‘Madison Avenue’ account of September 11th that has served as the justification for two wars, demolished our national economy, and deprived us of our privacy and civil liberties.”
They add, “By printing thousands of educational flyers and distributing them via teams of AE911Truth volunteers at the memorial grounds entry, we can inform the public as to why the 9/11 Memorial Museum is largely a fraud.”
