At lunchtime on June 8 a man and a woman who had made an “apparent suicide pact” ambushed and killed two officers in a pizza restaurant then walked to a Walmart where they told “everyone to get out of the store” and killed themselves.
They were reportedly confronted by a civilian with a concealed carry handgun inside the Walmart, whom they shot and killed as well.
The New York Daily News cites a Las Vegas Review-Journal article which reported that one of the two attackers shouted, “This is the start of a revolution,” before shooting the officers.
The two attackers “stripped the officers’ bodies of their weapons” before walking to Walmart.
The Las Vegas Police Department “asked its off-duty officers to volunteer for extra patrols around their jurisdiction tonight so each officer has a partner.”
The names of the two attackers are scheduled to be released once autopsies on their bodies are completed.
