During the August 17 airing of NBC-Milwaukee’s Sunday Insight on WTMJ, host Charlie Sykes spoke to Michael Bloomberg’s unsuccessful involvement in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s race by saying, “Thanks for stopping by Mike, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
As Breitbart News reported, pro-gun Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke beat his primary opponent on August 11 despite the $150,000 Bloomberg spent to see Clarke lose.
Clarke won by a margin of 52 percent to 48 percent.
Clarke drew the ire of gun rights opponents in January 2013 when he advised Milwaukee County residents to become familiar with a firearm they could use to defend their lives during the time that passes between dialing 911 and police arrival.
In addition to Sykes comments on Sunday Insight, Milwaukee Community Journal’s Mike Holt was also on the show to say: “My unsolicited advice is to inform former Mayor Bloomberg…if you have so much money to waste I could use a few dollars.”
