Friday Twitter Rally: Hoosiers #Deserve Better Than Common Core

A Twitter rally is underway on Friday as Gov. Mike Pence (R) of Indiana attends the Defending the American Dream Summit hosted by Americans for Prosperity in Dallas, Texas.

Pence, a 2016 presidential hopeful, claims to be the first governor in the United States to repeal the Common Core standards. His state’s replacement standards, however, are remarkably similar to the Common Core, enough to earn them the moniker of “rebrand.” In fact, the state’s standards are so similar to the Common Core that Indiana was granted a one-year extension of its No Child Left Behind waiver, when Oklahoma – a state that really repealed the Common Core standards – was punished by the Obama administration for doing so.

Pence, nevertheless, continues to reject the assertion that his replacement academic standards are practically indistinguishable from the Common Core.

Visit truthinamericaneducation.com for sample tweets to send the word to Pence that he needs to address his Common Core “rebrand” when he returns home to Indiana.
