NRA: 'Elitist' Bloomberg Wants to Keep His Guns, Take Yours Away

On October 1, the National Rifle Association (NRA) launched an ad highlighting Michael Bloomberg’s push for more gun control, even as he lives his life “with armed security 24 hours a day.”

The NRA’s Andrew Arulanandam said of the ad release, “We look at it as an opportunity to expose the real Mike Bloomberg to the American people.”

According to The Hill, the NRA paid $2 million for the national ad buy, which features Kimberly Weeks, “a survivor of violent crime.” The ad addresses Bloomberg, saying, “You do not have the right to tell me how to defend myself.” Weeks is from Colorado, a state the NRA is focusing on as pro-gun rights candidate Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO) is challenging pro-gun control Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO).

A voice-over in the NRA ad says, “Liberals call this flyover country. It’s an insult. But nobody insults your life quite like this guy–Michael Bloomberg: billionaire, elitist, hypocrite. Bloomberg tries to ban your snack foods, your soda and, most of all, your guns.”

On July 10, Breitbart News reported Bloomberg said gun control advocates only lost the September 2013 Colorado recall elections because of voters in areas of the state where there aren’t any roads. Those backwater, roadless areas were Pueblo (Angela Giron-D), Colorado Springs (John Morse-D), and Westminster (Evie Hudak-D).
