'Dreamers' Heckle Obama at Connecticut Rally for Democrat Dan Malloy

Amnesty activists heckled President Barack Obama on Sunday at a rally intended to boost support for Democratic Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy, who is struggling against opponent Republican Tom Foley.

According to The Hill, one of the immigration hecklers wore a shirt that read “Obama Deports Parents.” Police also took away two young amnesty activists for speaking over the president. Another woman, who referred to herself as a “dreamer,” called on Obama to enact immigration reform.

Obama blamed Republicans.

“The Republicans are blocking immigration reform,” Obama told the audience. “That’s one more reason we need a Democratic Senate.”

The Connecticut campaign event marked a rare Obama appearance, as Democrats have fled from the unpopular president. Malloy apparently felt it was worth the risk to be associated with Obama. According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, the Democratic now has just a 0.7 percent lead over Foley.
