Mitch McConnell: Obama Signaling 'No Intention' Of Moving to The Middle

Sen. Mitch McConnell, expected to become Senate Majority Leader in January, says that President Obama is making it clear to Republicans that he has no intention of moving his political agenda to the middle.

One reporter questioned whether McConnell is committed to meet Obama in the middle on several political issues.

“The problem is that the president continues to send signals that he has no intention of moving toward the middle,” McConnell replied.

McConnell added that he was “particularly distressed” about Obama’s agreement with the Chinese to reduce global emissions without requiring the Chinese to do anything for sixteen years.

“I would welcome the president moving to the middle,” McConnell said, pointing to areas of agreement including tax reform and trade agreements. “First indications have not been very helpful.”
