HHS To Push Obamacare On ‘Black Friday’

The federal government is teaming up with health care groups to promote Obamacare on Black Friday, according to an announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services.

The department and popular websites including The Knot, The Nest and The Bump will promote the controversial health care website to encourage Americans to sign up for health insurance while millions of Americans spend the weekend looking for deals.

The websites will be feature Obamacare-friendly articles such as “A Message from Michelle Obama,” “Three Reasons to #GetCovered” and “The #1 Thing to Do on Cyber Monday to Stay Healthy.”

“You’ll find a range of insurance choices, lined up side-by-side and explained in easy-to-understand language,” Michelle Obama writes in an article for expecting mothers.

Westfield Shopping Centers and the National Community Pharmacists Association are also joining the promotion scheme.

“We are thrilled to announce partnerships today with three organizations that reach consumers across the country, especially on the busiest shopping weekend of the year,” said HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell in a statement.
