On December 19 an alleged would-be robber pulled a pellet gun on a clerk in Daytona Beach’s Neighborhood Meat Market. The clerk responded by pulling a real gun and opening fire.

According to WFTV 9, the suspect was trying to rob the meat market when he pulled the pellet gun. The clerk, not knowing if the gun was real or fake, grabbed his own gun and began firing. At that point the suspect fled and tried to carjack a vehicle in the parking lot. Turns out, the lady driving the vehicle was the wife of the meat market clerk and she refused to comply.

While the attempted carjacking was still ongoing, the clerk caught up with the suspect and opened fire again.

At that point the suspect dropped his gun and escaped on foot. Metro Beach Police do not know how many times the suspect may have been shot or if any of the bullets found their target.
