President Obama called to apologize to a bride after her wedding was suddenly relocated as a result of his golfing plans.
According to Bloomberg’s Michael Bender, Army Captain Natalie Heimel and her fiance were told to relocate their weekend wedding less than 24 hours from the scheduled ceremony.
Obama, they were told, was planning to play on the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course in Hawaii that weekend. They planned to tie the knot at the 16th tee.
After Bloomberg contacted the White House about the mess, Obama quickly placed a phone call to the bride to apologize.
“He apologized and congratulated them,” a sister of the bride told Bloomberg News.
Obama has played golf six times so far on the ninth day of his 17-day vacation in Hawaii.
