Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards took to Twitter to mock the House GOP for pulling the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act on Wednesday–on the eve of the March for Life in Washington, D.C.

As Breitbart News reported Wednesday night, GOP House leadership caved to Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) and a group of GOP women who believe passage of the bill that would ban abortions past the fifth month of pregnancy would hurt the Party’s chances with women and millennials. The leadership’s decision to swap the Pain-Capable bill with a weaker bill that would stop taxpayer funding of abortion comes as hundreds of thousands or pro-lifers descend on Washington for the March for Life.
Regarding the House leadership’s decision to pull the Pain-Capable Act, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, released the following statement:
As a woman and Millennial, again I am disappointed by the GOP leadership. Because of a few naysayers, they stopped a vote today on an issue – banning abortion after 20 weeks – that has significant support among all Americans, specifically the target demographics purported to be turned off by such legislation: women and Millennials.
Congressional approval stands near an all-time low and young Americans are consistently cynical about the government, yet by failing to deliver on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, House GOP leaders have continued to damage any chance of connecting with the passion of Millennials, 59% of whom see abortion as morally wrong and 52% of whom want to ban abortions after 20 weeks.
