President Obama reacted to the news that a video reportedly released by ISIS featured a captive Jordanian pilot burned alive.

Obama acknowledged that he had just heard the news, and did not yet know the details of the video and whether it was authentic.

“Should, in fact, this video be authentic, it’s just one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization,” Obama said, referring to ISIS.

Obama signaled that if true, the grisly murder would spark further “vigilance and determination” by the world to degrade and destroy the terrorist organization.

He also expressed that he doesn’t understand the motives of the organization,

“It also indicates the degree to which whatever ideology they’re operating off of, it’s bankrupt,” he said.
