Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is getting a big political boost from his former boss just five days before he faces re-election for mayor in the city elections.

The Chicago Tribune reports that President Obama will travel to Chicago to designate part of the city as a national monument.

According to the White House, Obama will declare the Pullman district on the Far South Side of the city as a “national monument,” using his authority under the Antiquities Act of 1906.

Obama will visit the city on February 19 to announce the designation – Emanuel’s election will be held on February 24.
