Citizens United and Congressman Jeff Duncan are excited to team up in Greenville, South Carolina, for the next exciting grassroots event: the South Carolina Freedom Summit on May 9.

The South Carolina Freedom Summit, taking place at the beautiful Peace Center in Greenville, will be a day for conservative activists to gather, rally, and listen to some of the most prominent conservative leaders in the nation. It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from these influential leaders who are working to get America back on track by focusing on our core principles of pro-growth economics, social conservatism, and a strong national defense.

Currently, we have announced nine guest speakers, including Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Jim DeMint, Mrs. Carly Fiorina, Senator Rick Santorum, Governor Rick Perry, Senator Lindsey Graham, Governor George Pataki, Congressman Marsha Blackburn, Congressman Steve King, and former New Hampshire Speaker of the House William O’Brien. Many more guest speakers have confirmed their attendance, and we will be announcing them in the next few weeks.

This event is the latest in our series of highly successful freedom summits. On January 24, Citizens United partnered with Congressman Steve King to host one of the most talked about conservative gatherings on the national scene. Our Iowa Freedom Summit hosted twenty-four top conservative leaders and speakers, including Senator Ted Cruz, Governor Scott Walker, Governor Sarah Palin, Governor Mike Huckabee, Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Senator Joni Ernst, to name a few. The summit received remarkable national media coverage and was featured on major news networks, like Fox News Channel. It also provided a stage for conservative leaders like Senator Mike Lee to discuss real solutions to the problems facing our nation.

Our inaugural Freedom Summit was held nearly a year ago in New Hampshire. The first event in our series, we partnered with Americans for Prosperity to bring the leaders of the conservative movement to the New Hampshire Freedom Summit in Manchester. Attendees got to hear from a variety of speakers, including Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. The room was filled to capacity with freedom-loving grassroots activists from across the Granite State.

We always have faith that Citizens United and our partners will produce successful, well-received events like the Freedom Summits in Iowa, New Hampshire, and now, South Carolina; however, the degree of success leaves us speechless.

As I took the stage at our Iowa Freedom Summit, I looked out on a sea of grassroots leaders and supporters. I saw nothing but high energy, enthusiasm, support, and love for our country. I’m proud of the strong team we’ve assembled to advance our conservative philosophy–from the Citizens United staff to our partners, speakers, and sponsors, who have all contributed to these successful events.

Events like these unite the conservative base so we can work together to bring this nation back to what it was founded on. Our efforts and commonality help return us to the principles that work: strong family values, support for our national defense, and policies that uphold our constitutional and economic freedoms.
