Man Freed on Bond Allegedly Shoots 7 at Spring Break Party

A spring break party at a private home in Panama City Beach was interrupted by gunfire early on Saturday morning wounding seven, authorities said.

A man identified as David Jamichael Daniels, 22, of Mobile, Alabama was quickly arrested and charged with the attack.

Police responded to 9-1-1 calls reporting the shooting at 12:55 AM only to find a “chaotic scene” with seven people in their 20s lying wounded. Three victims were found wounded in the street, one just outside the home and three more inside.

Sheriff Frank McKeithen told the media that the investigation is continuing. “We have about 100 witnesses of so that we are trying to separate and interview,” McKeithen said. “We have a mess.”

Police report that the alleged shooter was already out on bond for drug possession. Additionally, two of Daniels’ companions were also arrested but were soon released.

All the victims were hospitalized. One was shot in the head and is listed in critical condition. Three others were also listed in critical with the remainder listed in stable condition.
